Darto said that the main focus of the Manpower Office was to increase efforts to create Human Resources (HR) competencies in the city of Bandung. So that HR in Bandung City has the ability to match the needs of the job market.

"We are also trying to increase the number of people we can train. Continue to develop new services so that it is easier for people to get competence at a lower cost," said Darto at Bandung City Hall, Thursday, December 2, 2021.

Darto explained, in 2021 there will be a significant increase in the unemployment rate. This is because it is not only caused by competition or the number of workforce and work opportunities that are not balanced, but also affected by the Covid-19 pandemic. Currently, there are around 147,000 people or 11.19 percent of the unemployment rate in Bandung. This number has increased from 2020 which was recorded at only 8.16%.

"So that economic recovery will become a strategic issue in 2022. Of course, the Manpower Office will participate in handling this economic recovery, we will be more focused," he said.

In addition to producing competent human resources, Darto said, Manpower Office is also always looking for various strategies to be able to 'link and match' to stimulate more massive employment.

"After people have become entrepreneurs or become workers, our next task is to provide protection. Whether it's a work relationship dispute or related to work safety," he said.

In order to make services easier, the Manpower Office has also just launched the New Bimma application on November 29, 2021. This application is an improvement from the previous version with various additional service features.

"This New Bimma service provides 30 types of services. Among them are yellow cards, regarding disputes and how protection is facilitated, as well as other employment services," he said. (asp)**l
