POLITICAL PARTY'S FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE MUST BE TRANSPARENT AND ACCOUNTABLE

The goal is to help political parties report their finances in a transparent and accountable manner. Deputy Mayor of Bandung, Yana Mulyana, revealed that the financial assistance for political parties was sourced from the Bandung City Regional Budget (APBD). Therefore, in its use there must be accountability based on the principles of transparency and accountability.

"Financial accountability, of course, must be based on the existing rules. With great prudence and accuracy," he said.

It is also to improve the ability of political parties in managing the financial assistance, it is necessary to provide technical guidance regarding the management and accountability for the use of the aid funds, including the final report.

Meanwhile, the Head of Bandung City Bakesbangpol, Bambang Sukardi said that the grant assistance for political parties must be accounted for to the Mayor of Bandung, Oded M. Danial after receiving a verification check from the Supreme Audit Agency of the Republic of Indonesia (BPK RI).

"The purpose of this activity is to provide technical guidance, especially regarding the accountability of financial aid reports for political parties, activities and procedures for compiling documents for submission and accountability for political parties' financial assistance in 2021," he said.

"That is to provide understanding to political party administrators in the management of these political parties' financial assistance. The aim is to understand programs and activities regarding political party financial assistance and also reporting the accountability of such assistance to the city government," he continued.

There were also resource persons in this activity, namely the Chair of the West Java Provincial KPU with material on aligning political party financial assistance in preparation for the 2024 Simultaneous Regional Head Elections, the BPK RI Training Agency with material on budgeting procedures and preparation of accountability documents for political party financial assistance.

This includes the Bandung City Public Prosecutor's Office with material on the preparation of LPJ and criminal sanctions related to grant assistance for partner agencies of the Bandung City Government.(agg)**
