BANDUNG GOVERNMENT LAUNCHES CALENDER OF EVENT 2022, 78 EVENTS READY TO HAVE

The Regional Secretary (Sekda) of Bandung City, Ema Sumarna said, even though the destination of tourists to the city district area in Bandung Raya, Bandung City remains a magnet as a place to stay. In fact, culinary affairs and shopping are the main goals.

Ema hopes that these various events can become a milestone in improving the economy through the tourism sector. Because, the city of Bandung does not have a natural tourist destination. However, the potential of Human Resources (HR) through a variety of creativity becomes its own strength.

"Hopefully, what we have planned, God will provide convenience and smoothness. It can be realized as several things improve, especially regarding the Covid-19 pandemic," said Ema after the launch of the Bandung Calendar of Event 2022 at the Grand Ballroom el Royale Hotel, Wednesday, November 24, 2021.

Ema explained that the holding of these various events would provide a 'multiplayer effect' outside of tourism. As in the addition of MSME income, employment, increased turnover or hotel occupancy. All of this will affect the income tax revenue.

"If tourism is alive, the economy of Bandung City is extraordinary. If it produces PAD (regional original income), we can build more freely. After all, the people will also enjoy it," he said.

Even so, Ema still reminded that health protocols remained a top priority. Don't just focus on running the tourism sector but neglect to maintain discipline in health protocols (prokes).

Ema assessed, from a number of indicators in the city of Bandung, the Covid-19 pandemic was quite under control. The new normal lifestyle by implementing 5M should be a guideline. All parties must be committed to running it in order to anticipate that a third wave will not appear.

"The most important thing is that the process is under control. Moreover, the pandemic is getting better. Bandung is entering level 1, that's what we all hope for. That's why everyone must be disciplined about the process. It's better if we are alert than the incident, it's fragile," he said.

Furthermore, the Head of the Bandung City Culture and Tourism Office (Disbudpar), Dewi Kaniasari said, the 78 events were the result of a curation process. Then the top ten events were made as a mainstay in 2022.

The top ten events include Keukeun Bandung, Bandung Independent Film Fest, Bandung Run 2022, Bandung Photography Month, International Photography and Short Movie (ipsm) Festival, Ganesha Film Festival, World Dance Day, Absolute Drumfest, and World Music Contest "sora III"Journey Is Life

"We also held the Bandung City Angklung event. We took the initiative because Bandung already has an ecosystem. Starting from the craftsmen, there are study programs at ISBI and the actors or artists in Bandung City. Finally, we are confident that next year we will declare that Bandung is the City of Angklung," said the woman who is familiar with called this Kenny.

Kenny said, in one month at least two ways are held. With this sustainable agenda, it is hoped that it will become an attraction for both local and foreign tourists.

"In order to introduce the City of Bandung and inform that its people are still creative and productive even in the midst of a pandemic. That's why the theme is innovative, smart and creative," he explained.

He also admitted that he had collaborated with the Association of The Indonesian Tours And Travel Agencies (ASITA) to provide tour packages in the city of Bandung.
