Plt. Bandung Mayor Yana Mulyana hopes that the Bandung City Government can collaborate with the Indonesian Young Entrepreneurs Association (Hipmi) of Bandung City and West Java in an effort to recover the economy after the Covid-19 pandemic.

This was conveyed by him after attending the Opening of the XVI BPD Hipmi West Java Working Meeting at The Papandayan Hotel, Saturday, March 12, 2022.

He hopes that the transition from a pandemic to an endemic Covid-19 will be the beginning of collaboration between the Bandung City Government and HIPMI Bandung City.

"Hopefully my friends at Hipmi, especially the city of Bandung, can help the City Government accelerate economic recovery after the pandemic," he said.

Reflecting on the economic growth in West Java, which is predicted to reach 5 percent, Yana is also optimistic that economic growth in the city of Bandung will be in the range of this figure.

“Usually, the economic growth in Bandung City is higher than West Java and the National. Hopefully, if the prediction of economic growth in West Java is at 5 percent, in Bandung it can reach 5.5 percent," he said.

Meanwhile, the Chairperson of Hipmi West Java, Surya Batara Kartika, appreciated program innovations from regional heads ranging from governors to mayors and regents in cities and regencies throughout West Java during the pandemic.

He also invited all parties to launch investments so that many new entrepreneurs would grow.

“Investment is not added value. But the investment must be of value and create a lot of opportunities and new entrepreneurs,” he said.

The event was also attended by representatives of Hipmi members throughout West Java and the Governor of West Java, Ridwan Kamil.

In his speech, Ridwan Kamil said that West Java has many advantages and high market absorption.

Reflecting on this, he hopes that entrepreneurs can offer the right products for the residents of West Java, which number around 50,000 residents.

"West Java has a lot of markets. The population alone is 50,000. Therefore, we must prepare products that suit their needs," he said.

Emil, Ridwan Kamil's nickname, also informed that West Java continues to experience economic growth. He is optimistic, West Java's economic growth will penetrate the 5 percent mark. (ray)**
