Cool! The City of Bandung is the Best Student City in Southeast Asia

The city of Bandung is included in the list of the best student cities in Southeast Asia. This is taken from the Quacquarelli Symonds (QS) World University Rankings (WUR) ranking which lists the best cities for students in Indonesia in 2023.

The five best student cities in Southeast Asia are Singapore, Kuala Lumpur, Bangkok, Manila and Bandung City.

In Indonesia, the city of Bandung won the best city followed by the cities of Jakarta and Surabaya according to the assessment conducted by the 2023 QS Best Student Cities.

For information, there are six assessment indicators used in the ranking, namely: university rankings, student mix, desirability, employer activity, affordability, and student voice.

In the 2023 QS WUR, there are six campuses in the Greater Bandung area, which are on the list of the best campuses in Indonesia. Five of the six campuses have campuses located in the city of Bandung:

1. Bandung Institute of Technology (ITB),
2. Padjadjaran University (Unpad),
3. Indonesian Education University (UPI),
4. Indonesian Cultural Arts Institute (ISBI),
5. Parahyangan Catholic University (Unpar).

In detail, cities included in the QS Best Student Cities ranking are cities with a population of at least 250 thousand people.

The city has two of the best universities included in the latest QS World University ranking.

In addition, there are several aspects to consider such as the affordability of tuition fees, living costs, the number of international students, safety and health, as well as surveys from students.

QS WUR stated that there were 164 cities that met the requirements to be considered in the assessment as the best city destinations for international students to continue their education.

Of the 140 cities included in the QS version of the list of the best student cities in the world, Bandung is ranked 120th in the world with a score of 39.4.

Followed by Jakarta which is ranked 124th in the world with a total score of 37.5 and Surabaya in the 126th position in the world with a total score of 37.2.

The city of Bandung is even better than Rio de Janeiro, Brazil which is ranked 121st and the capital city of India, New Delhi (ranked 129th).(ray)**
