100 Percent ODF Acceleration, FBS and Bank bjb Sign Cooperation

The general chairman of FBS Bandung, Yunimar Mulyana, said that this collaboration is an effort to create a superior, comfortable, prosperous and religious city of Bandung.

"The health status of an area can be seen from the environmental conditions which are characterized by basic sanitation achievements," Yunimar said after signing the cooperation agreement between Bank bjb Tamansari Branch and FBS, at the Bandung City Hall, Friday 24 March 2023.

He said ODF is one of the basic sanitation indicators. Namely, no more people defecating in the open.

"This is very important to keep the environment clean and prevent the spread of diseases that can be harmful to human health," he said.

Yunimar explained, in February 2023, the City of Bandung had made a 100 percent ODF declaration. Nevertheless, there are still many challenges to be faced in fulfilling 100 percent ODF, such as limited land to the economy.

"There are several challenges that must be faced now, including limited land, especially in dense settlements. The economy is mediocre, so it is less able to provide its own septic tank, to empowerment which must be optimal," he said.

To overcome this, efforts are being made to accelerate ODF to accelerate the achievement of ODF conditions, by increasing public awareness.

"Building adequate sanitation facilities also educates about the importance of keeping the environment clean," he said.

ODF acceleration involves various parties, such as government, communities, NGOs and companies working together to achieve ODF conditions.

"This assistance is one of the efforts that is very helpful in achieving ODF," he stressed.

Meanwhile, the Head of Bank bjb Tamansari Branch, Yogi Yogiswara admitted that his party is ready to support various activities as well as government programs.
