Even though it takes time, said Ema, the realization of the Bandung City community with a new habit of sorting waste is not impossible.

"It does take time to shift the paradigm, create a new civilization. But we believe we can do this," said Ema when opening the Beberes Bandung Lautan Sampah activity in the Tegalega Field area of Bandung, Wednesday 22 November 2023.

This activity is one of the efforts during the emergency waste management period which is still ongoing in the city of Bandung.

Ema, who in this case is the Daily Chair of the Bandung City Waste Emergency Task Force, also said that as of today, there are still 5 TPS and around 12,000 tons of waste in Bandung City that have not been transported to the landfill following the Sarimukti TPA fire.

Although on the other hand, the progress of emergency waste handling shows a positive trend, the Bandung City Government remains committed to resolving the problems at the remaining overloaded TPS, including the remaining around 12,000 tons of waste that has not been transported.

Furthermore, Ema expressed her gratitude to the Bandung City FKPPI who was willing to join as a volunteer during the waste emergency period.

For your information, in this activity as many as 100 volunteers from FKPPI were educated and will later be distributed as volunteers in the region.

On this occasion, the Head of the Bandung City Youth and Sports Service (Dispora), Edy Marwoto, ensured that the Bandung City Dispora, which was given the task of gathering volunteers in the Bandung City Waste Emergency Task Force, would continue to promote various strategic programs for handling Bandung City waste so that they are understood and carried out evenly. regional level.

Various activities have also been carried out by the Bandung City Dispora during this waste emergency handling period. Starting from recruiting 3,000 young volunteers, cleaning the South Warehouse TPS, as well as a series of other activities.

"Tomorrow we will also recruit 250 volunteers and also educate the public regarding waste sorting. The location is at the Mayang Sunda Arts Padepokan," said Edy.

Meanwhile, the Chair of the Bandung City FKPPI, Adde Ma'arif Supratmane emphasized that emergency waste management cannot be carried out by just one party, so it requires collaboration.

"FKPPI Bandung City welcomes it of course. My friends ask me to start moving to the regions starting tomorrow. We have to collaborate in handling this emergency period. We have to remind each other," he said. (ray)**
