Famous Braga Raises Local Tourism and Entrepreneurship Spirit
The first day of implementation of Braga Beken, aka Car Free, received high enthusiasm from residents, local tourists, out of town and abroad.
Freeing Jalan Braga from motorized vehicles has had a positive impact on the arrangement of this historic area.
In an evaluation meeting attended by Forkopimda officials, the Chairman of the DPRD, Head of OPD, PHRI, Akar, Bjb and community leaders, Braga Beken succeeded in controlling traffic flow effectively.
"The report from Kasatlantas states that the presence of Braga Beken has helped reduce traffic jams around Jalan Naripan. This provides concrete evidence in improving
quality of life for residents," said Acting Mayor of Bandung, Bambang Tortoyuliono on Jalan Braga, Saturday, May 4 2024.
Various activities were also held at Braga Beken. These include Braga Culinary Night, co-working space, and development of a tourist village.
This has received full support from the TNI-Polri to make Braga Beken a success.
Bambang confirmed that the Bandung City Government is committed to empowering the potential that exists around Braga.
"We will encourage local businesses to continue to be enthusiastic in popularizing their products," he said.
"With full support from all parties, it is believed that the Braga Beken area can become an even more legendary tourist destination," added Bambang.
Residents around Braga also welcomed Braga's transformation positively, expressing their joy at the new atmosphere created.
"This is the first time it's been so comfortable," said Head of Sumur Bandung Subdistrict, Wahyu Rinjaningsih. (ziz)**
