Acting Daily Regional Secretary for the City of Bandung, Hikmat Ginanjar, encouraged a number of public services to adapt to advances in time and technology. Adaptation is something that must be implemented in all Regional Apparatus Organizations (OPD).

“Life nowadays moves very fast. "Those who can survive are those who are able to adapt to change," said Hikmat at the Bandung City SPBE and Smart City Forum at El Hotel, Jalan Merdeka Bandung City, Wednesday 22 May 2024.

Even so, Hikmat emphasized technological advances that must be addressed. Technology must be in line with the humanist touch that can be felt by Bandung residents.

"It is important for us that this technology not only has good intellectual qualities, but also has good ethics or taste," he said.

“Taste is important. In Sundanese philosophy there are creativity, taste and intention. "Therefore, it is important for us to regulate life on this earth so that it is not dominated by things that keep us shackled," advised Hikmat.

He added that the Bandung City Government is one of the cities that will take part in evaluation activities for the implementation of the smart city program phase 1 in 2024.

Based on the evaluation results of the implementation of Smart City 2023, the City of Bandung received a baseline score: 3.96, output: 3.89, outcome: 3.68, impact: 3.77, quick win: 3.98 with a final score of 3.83. This result is in the top five, only 0.01 behind the city of Surakarta (Solo).

"We know that the first stage of the evaluation aims to follow up on the progress of the recommendations from the assessor team for the 241 selected cities/districts in the 2017-2023 period," said Hikmat.

Meanwhile, the Head of the Bandung City Communication and Informatics Service (Diskominfo), Yayan A. Brilyana, said that the position of the City of Bandung with a population that is mostly Gen Z with a very high number of gadget, social media and internet users means that the City of Bandung is very adaptive to very fast technological developments, especially information and communication technology.

He added, to encourage this potential, the Bandung City Government is encouraging increased digitalization growth in society by facilitating free WiFi, building co-working spaces and various other programs.

"So, the goal of a smart city is to make it easier to provide transparent services and increase new innovations in society, which can be achieved, especially so that people's quality of life becomes better," said Yayan.

For your information, the Bandung City SPBE and Smart City Forum activities are the beginning of a series of SPBE and Smart City evaluation activities in Bandung City.

Participants in this activity come from all regional apparatus within the Bandung City Government. (ray)**
