This facility is useful for Bandung City's creative people to gather and exchange ideas.

This was also emphasized by Plt. Mayor of Bandung, Yana Mulyana. He conveyed the Bandung City Government's support for creative people at the Submission of Report on the Implementation of the Center for Economic Empowerment and Community Creativity with the Co-Working Space Concept.

“During the pandemic, the City Government encourages all parties to be creative. And Alhamdulillah 20 sub-districts in the city of Bandung have been able to adapt. This is a valuable experience," Yana said, Friday, January 7, 2022.

According to him, the creative industry should be the backbone of the economy of the city of Bandung.

This is because this industry relies more on a relatively broad thinking power and does not rely too much on the limited supply of natural resources.

"This program is a political promise for the late Mang Oded (Oded M. Danial) and I in our endeavor to create a creative industry ecosystem that will drive the economy after the Covid-19 pandemic," he explained.

Meanwhile, the Head of the Bandung City Culture & Tourism Office (Disbudpar) Kenny Dewi Kaniasari agreed with this.

According to him, in 2023 the Bandung City Government targets that Co-Working Space will be activated in 30 sub-districts.

"It's not only physical (Co-Working Space) but also non-physical such as the formation of technology-based economic and creative groups developed with social business platforms," he said.

Kenny also expressed his gratitude to all collaborators ranging from regional apparatus organizations and regional elements who have participated in the activation of Co-Working Space at the District level.

The Co-Working Space concept was first started in 2019. After going through the process of mapping studies, outreach, and program initiation, a year later or from 2020 to 2021, the Bandung City Government through Disbudpar provides assistance, although via online.

In 2022, the Bandung City Government targets 10 sub-districts to be fostered. This amount is to fulfill 30 sub-districts for the activation of Co-Working Space.

“In the future, Bandung City will become One District One Product. One sub-district will have one superior product," he said.

On the same occasion, the Chairman of the Bandung City DPRD, Tedy Rusmawan, appreciated the Co-Working Space program and asked for this program to continue.

“We have entered the 5.0 era, and later it was also known as the Metaverse. We need to go far because we have a lot of products,” he said.

The event also featured MSME creations from each sub-district in the city of Bandung.

The works exhibited as winners represent 17 sub-sectors from the creative industry sector.

The MSME works include creative industry products ranging from culinary, fashion, music, and many more.(ray)*
