The Bandung City Government (Pemkot) held a Cooking Oil Cheap Market Operation, Thursday, January 13, 2022. This operation is to help residents obtain cooking oil, whose price is now skyrocketing.

In collaboration with the Ministry of Trade, the West Java Provincial Government, the Bandung City Trade and Industry Service, they provide 7,200 liters of cooking oil for residents at a price of Rp. 14,000 per liter.

On this occasion, the Acting Mayor of Bandung, Yana Mulyana and the Governor of West Java, Ridwan Kamil went down directly to carry out the Cheap Market Operation at Dewi Sartika Park, Bandung City Hall.

Yana hopes that the operation of the cheap cooking oil market will speed up the distribution process and help oil prices return to normal.

"People in each sub-district who have bought oil at this Cheap Market Operation are invited through an invitation letter," he added.

He added that the oil in the Cooking Oil Cheap Market Operation was taken and recorded directly by each sub-district. So it runs out right away.

"The buyer criteria are direct manual users in each region and village," he said.

"The oil is taken from partners in West Java Province, and can be directly purchased here by residents," he added.

Meanwhile, the Head of the Bandung City Trade and Industry Office, Elly Wasliah, said that this cooking oil market operation lasted for 1 day at Dewi Sartika Park, Bandung City.

"The number for the city of Bandung is 7,200 liters. The packaging is bottles per one liter. For the mechanism, we use Rp. 14,000 per liter," he said.

For distribution, his party has coordinated with the region for distribution by minimizing crowds.

He revealed, currently the price of cooking oil in the market is around Rp. 20 thousand.

"The mechanism according to the leadership's direction is that we are currently still in the Covid-19 pandemic, to prevent crowds of 7,200 we provide in the region. The allocation for each kelurahan is 35 liters. Each sub-district is different depending on the number of wards," he said.

Meanwhile, in Dewi Sartika Park, 600 liters are provided.

In the same place, the Governor of West Java, Ridwan Kamil, emphasized that the oil in the Cheap Market Operation was concentrated at certain points from the sub-districts and was sent directly to the kelurahan to avoid crowds.

"Residents can come directly to the village office or village office, so it's not always in big places like this," said Emil.

"The operation of the Cooking Oil Market will continue to be carried out from 11 regency cities. This week it will be completed in 27 regency cities," he added.

He added that the division of Market Operations was changed in several ways so that it could reach the public. Some are focused on certain points, some are sent through the Kelurahan or Village Office so they don't crowd.

One of the residents, Alia, hopes that the government will continue to carry out market operations as long as oil prices are high.

"I thank you very much for this Cooking Oil Cheap Market Operation event. The Bandung City Government really helps people who find it difficult to get oil supplies at low prices," he said.(sya)**
