Located on the 2nd Floor of Kosambi Market, Hallway is a creative space with a variety of creative industry products ranging from fashion, culinary, music, handicrafts, automotive, and many more.

Public Relations Bandung had the opportunity to visit the Hallway. This creative space is only crowded after 16.00 WIB.

At the beginning of Hallway activation, many visitors may have difficulty finding this place. But now, after two years of operation, the Hallway location is relatively easy to find.

Just go straight from the side door to the right of Kosambi Market, you will find the stairs and the entrance to the Hallway.

A number of youths were seen sitting in front of Hallway outlets or shophouses. They seemed to be talking and there were also visitors looking into the shop.

In the middle, there are dozens of tables and chairs as well as food stalls ranging from heavy food to coffee. You are free to choose where to sit and order your food.

This section seems to be filled with young people who are spending time in the afternoon. There is no age limit, there seem to be school students, college students, and youths hanging out here.

As a creative space with lots of "rides" to visit, the visitors to Hallway are practically random people.

Some of them are just meeting friends, some are just going to have lunch, or are looking for something such as clothes, craft products, or taking pictures at one of the photo studios that have become tenants in Hallway.

For information, this creative space has been operating since 2020. Reportedly, the projection of this creative space has been initiated since 2018.

The land area of 1,400 square meters is projected for 500 shops. The target of industry players is to focus on communities and events so that the Hallway becomes a connected creative space.

By now, there were already "three batches" of tenants on Hallway. Three batches here refer to the three stages of development undertaken by Hallway.

One of them is Heroine Herbatari. The woman who is familiarly called Cici is busy taking care of the Waffle n Chill tenant, a culinary business that she has been running since 2021.

"Before opening a business here, I've been a kid hanging out with Hallway since it first opened. So, I've been eyeing this place because it's in line with the target market for my culinary business," he explained.

As a creative industry player in Bandung, Cici recommends Hallway for those of you who have never been here. According to him, Hallway is one of the creative spaces with many choices of creative products, so it is highly recommended for creative industry lovers from anywhere to visit.

The strategic location and random visits by people also make creative industry players interested in opening a business here. Arien Kartika, a tea artisan, admits this.

Arien and her husband have opened the Near Tea teahouse on Hallway since 2019 aka since the first phase of construction. Although not as popular as coffee, Arien feels that his tea shop business is never empty of visitors.

"Maybe drinking tea can be done while hanging out and chatting with friends. Oh yes, indeed, since we opened here, it is easier for people to know us," said Arien.

Another tenant we met was Anticlass. Ujang Rahmat alias Gebeg is the owner of this tenant. Yes, Gebeg is known as the drummer for a million bands because he often fills drum positions in many Bandung bands and various types of music.

As an artist who has been around since the 90s, Gebeg is happy that Bandung City has a creative space like Hallway. He realized the great potential that Bandung has as a creative city.

"Now many are asking, where is Bandung (the creative industry)? In my view, maybe before other regions start, we have started first," he said.

Talking about the creative industry, Gebeg admitted that there is still a lot of homework for these industry players in Bandung, starting from individuals to the government level. One of the homeworks called Gebeg is the availability of creative space in Bandung.

Even so, Gebeg admitted that he was optimistic that the future of the creative industry in Bandung would be even better than what was already good. According to him, the collective capital owned by the people of Bandung is a big asset.

Besides talking to tenants, Bandung Public Relations also talked with a number of Hallway visitors. As already explained, most of them are young people from school age to university students.

Andri (21) is one of them. He and five of his friends were gathered at a table in front of one of the Hallway tenants. After ordering a table, the six young men dispersed: some looking for clothes, some ordering food, some looking at the music shop.

They claim to have a new hangout and stopover place since 2021.

"After the corona virus, we never saw each other again. It was difficult to hang out. Once there was an easing of the PPKM, we were confused about where to hang out. When we found out there was a Hallway, we met friends here," he explained.

Idris (21) who was also hanging out there hoped that the Covid-19 pandemic would really end, especially in the city of Bandung. That way, his activities and hobbies as metal music lovers can be channeled.

"Hopefully I can watch concerts again. And hopefully there will be more places like Hallway again. Because there are so many creative children in Bandung," he ordered.

For the record, if you want to stop by the Hallway, you should stop by after 16.00 or after all the tenants here are open so you can see a variety of cool creativity from the city of Bandung. (ray)**
