Saung Tenaga Surya Hadir di Taman Tegalega

Tegalega Park in Bandung City now has the latest facility, namely the Solar Energy Saung.

In this hut, park visitors can charge energy for electronic devices. Each corner of the table is provided with a Universal Serial Bus (USB) to charge electronic devices such as cellphones or laptops.

The presence of the place was inaugurated by the Acting Mayor of Bandung, Yana Mulyana and the Director of Finance and Human Resources of PT. LEN Industri (Persero), Indarto Pamungkas and the President Director of PT. Surya Energi Indotama, Bambang Iswanto at Tegalega Park, Bandung City, Wednesday 19 January 2022.

Currently, 5 Solar Saungs are present in Tegalega Park, including 2 points at the Bandung Lautan Api Monument, 2 at Lampions Park and 1 point at the Tirtalega pool area.

"There will be 10 solar-powered huts. In this place only 5. The rest are in several other public spaces. Thank God it turns out that in Bandung, PT LEN industry and PT SEI can be applied in public spaces for the community," Yana said.

With that, Yana said that strict supervision was needed to maintain the hut.

"It needs to be guarded as well. So those who have supervision are also maintained by the community," said Yana.

Meanwhile, the Director of Finance and Human Resources of PT. LEN Industri (Persero), Indarto Pamungkas explained, Saung Tenaga Surya is a support from the LEN company in supporting the Bandung City Government program, namely Bandung Ca'ang Baranang.

"We are still using fossil energy today but it will result in the depletion of existing energy reserves," he said.

"Therefore, it is necessary to switch to renewable energy. The use of sunlight as an energy source is one of the best solutions to reduce the use of non-renewable fossil energy," he explained.

He added, by using solar panels the use of sunlight can be turned into a new energy source.

"The city of Bandung is a tourist city, there are many city parks to be used as tourist destinations for both Bandung residents and outsiders. This underlies us to support public facilities, such as parks in the city of Bandung by making solar-powered shelters," he said.

"Each saung point in a day is able to produce electrical energy of 408 Watt Hour (WH) which will be stored in a battery with a capacity of 700 WH," he said.

In the same place, the President Director of PT. Surya Energi Indotama, Bambang Iswanto, said this was an encouragement to continue working to make solar energy usable by the community.

"Wherever, whenever and by anyone, Bandung City with the nickname Paris Van Java is a tourist city that has many city parks," he said.

Solar Power Saung LEN and SEI are the work of the nation's children who combine the Priangan culture, trying to be a shelter with modern technology in the form of renewable energy from Solar Power Plants (PLTS).

Decarbonization is the transition of fossil fuels into more environmentally friendly fuels to reduce the amount of greenhouse gas emissions. Decarbonization can be achieved by applying technologies and low-carbon energy sources, one of which is solar renewable energy. (yes)**
