Acting Mayor (Plt) of the Mayor of Bandung, Yana Mulyana said, the Covid-19 virus has a tendency to mutate. Therefore, Yana appealed to the public to strictly adhere to health protocols.

"Omicron already exists. Therefore, stay alert. Viruses tend to mutate," he said at the Kiaracondong District Office, Thursday, January 20, 2022.

Moreover, he added, the Omicron case had emerged in the city of Bandung.

"Indeed there are 6 cases in the city of Bandung. Those are local transmissions, not travel transmissions," said Yana.

From this case, Yana confirmed that the Bandung City Government would conduct random tests to determine the spread of the virus. For example, at school and so on.

"We'll see later, so it can't be general. Later I ask for another random test at schools related to PTM," he said.

In addition, the Bandung City Government is also discussing the implementation of Work From Home (WFH).

"According to the recommendation, it is not 100 percent WFO (Work From Office). We can reduce WFH by 25 percent and WFO by 75 percent. We are still adjusting this. Maybe next week the regulation will be regulated internally," said Yana.

For this reason, Yana appealed to residents not to panic, the most important thing is that people continue to apply health protocols.

"This is a form of alertness. Residents do not need to panic, because this is an endemic. Regarding the 6 cases, there are symptoms of coughing, but all of them are not travel transmission, this is true local transmission," he explained. (yes)**
