This was revealed by the Regional Secretary (Sekda) of Bandung City, Ema Sumarna while traveling along Jalan Juanda and Jalan Riau to see the cable grounding process.

He monitored the process by cycling with a number of service heads, Friday, January 28, 2022.

Cable grounding is the process of making a separate cable path that is installed in a house installation to the ground point (earth).

"The purpose of this grounding is so that the city of Bandung can be even more tidy. There are no dangling cables like this. We have installed everything underground," said Ema.

In the near future, Ema said, cable grounding will begin along Jalan Juanda. Bandung City Government will fix at four installation points.

"We plan to finish this on Friday next week, February 4. The coordinator is from the Public Works Service (DPU) and the Bandung City Communications and Information Office (Diskominfo). Later we will also coordinate with the relevant agencies," he explained.

So far, preparations have been made, namely the construction of a manhole or special channel for underground cable lines on Jalan Juanda.

After this, Ema added, the next step is the cable fireplace on Jalan Riau and Ahmad Yani.

"Now we will finish the Juanda Street first. After that, we will fix the others. The plan is to tidy up the cable poles on Tamblong Street, in synergy with the 2023 target," said Ema.

Head of the Bandung City Communication and Information Office, Yayan Ahmad Briliyana, said that this big target will be translated into small targets that can be carried out in the short term.

"For now, we only project fiber optic telecommunication cables to enter the manhole. For power cables, we will coordinate further with PLN next Monday," said Yayan.

The Head of the DPU, Didi Ruswandi, said the same thing. He explained that the reduction of telecommunication cables had been coordinated with the Association of Telecommunication Network Operators (Apjatel).

"Of course, the target is that we can ground all the cables in the 13 streets of Bandung City. Next Monday we will coordinate with PLN. Because we need to make an effective scheme for blackouts in order to minimize losses that occur," explained Didi. (din)**
