Youth Space, Complete the Cool Activities of Youth Organizations in Andir District
With the presence of Youth Spaces in various areas in the city of Bandung, local youths are more likely to contribute to advancing and developing their regions through various activities.
After Cibeunying Kaler, Antapani, Kiaracondong, and Coblong, now a youth space is present in Andir District, Monday 7 February 2022. The presence of Andir's youth space adds a platform for young people in Bandung to channel their ideas and ideas.
The youth space complements the activities that have been held by the youth, especially the Andir Youth Organization.
Throughout the Covid-19 pandemic, Karang Taruna has contributed to the people of Andir.
"We help the elderly who are underprivileged through the Friday Barokah (Jubah) program. So we start with bringing food and so on," said Chairman of the Andir Sub-district Youth Organization, Herimawan on the sidelines of the inauguration of the Andir District Youth Space, at the Kebon Jeruk Village Office, Monday. Herimawan revealed, Karang Taruna also assists in health checks in collaboration with the puskesmas. Including facilitating the supply of oxygen for residents in need.
"Regular health checks, such as blood pressure and other health checks, are every Friday. In the past, oxygen was difficult, we also facilitated oxygen for residents," he said.
In addition to handling COVID-19, Andir's youth is also engaged in waste management, namely implementing the Reduce Segregate and Utilize (Kang Pisman) program.
"Other activities, regarding the problem of waste, Kang Pisman," he said.
Responding to this, the Acting Mayor (Plt) of the Mayor of Bandung, Yana Mulyana, appreciated the activities carried out by youth in Andir District.
"On behalf of the Bandung City Government, we appreciate the establishment of a youth activity center in the city of Bandung. From this place a program was born that can direct the extraordinary energy of youth," he said.
He said the potential of youth in Bandung is extraordinary. Starting from energy, ideas to implementation.
"We know that the youth in Bandung are extraordinary. We direct this energy in a positive way. God willing, this place can become a center for creative ideas born from youth to jointly build the city of Bandung," he said.
Meanwhile, the Head of Andir Sub-district, Budi Rahmat Taufik, said that the presence of a youth creativity center is one of the programs included in the RPJMD where the sub-district has 1 Youth Space.
"Youth Space can run in accordance with the ideals and vision and mission of the City of Bandung," he said.
Meanwhile, the Head of the Bandung City Youth and Sports Office, Eddy Marwoto said, youth are agents of change, social control, and moral strength as a manifestation of their strategic functions, roles, characteristics, and positions in local government development.
Therefore, young people need a place to develop their potential.
