The Department of Trade and Industry (Disdagin) together with digital stores (marketplaces) closely monitor the prices of commodities sold online and offline.

This is intended so that commodities such as cooking oil are still sold at the Highest Retail Price (HET).

Head of the Bandung City Department of Industry and Trade, Elly Wasliah, confirmed this on the sidelines of the Focus Group Discussion (FGD) Survey of Consumer Needs for the Security and Convenience of the e-commerce System at City Hall, Friday 25 February 2022.

Disdagin Bandung City coordinates with digital stores that sell commodities online, including Blibli, Tokopedia, and Shopee.

"We see that the marketplace has been closely monitoring (so that the price of cooking oil is sold according to the highest retail price)," he said.

Elly also appealed to sellers to continue selling commodities such as cooking oil according to the highest retail price that has been determined by the Government.

"Our appeal is to follow the existing regulations. Follow the highest retail prices for cooking oil,” he ordered.

Meanwhile, three representatives of digital stores (marketplaces) who attended the FGD explained that they had made strict regulations regarding the monitoring of commodity prices sold online.

Nursida as a representative from Tokopedia explained that the regulation from Tokopedia related to this was to provide socialization to sanction actions for sellers who sell commodities beyond the highest retail price.

"Our first step is to provide socialization to the seller. There is a push notification so that the seller adjusts to the market price," he said.

He also explained that if there are sellers who still sell commodities above the highest retail price, they will be sanctioned in the form of a decrease in sales advertisements.

"If after socialization but still stubborn, then we will take down (the product)," admitted Nursida.(ray)**
