The Mayor of Bandung, Yana Mulyana, believes that education and learning must change in order to keep pace with the times. Therefore, the learning perspective is the most important thing in providing education.

"Education is dynamic, the curriculum is evolving. I hope the parents (school principals) continue to innovate and be creative in creating interesting curriculum," Yana asked at the Competence Improvement activity for Principals as School Leaders, at Trans Hotel, Thursday 23 June 2022.

According to Yana, to achieve this, improving the competence of human resources is the key.

"The key is in HR (Human Resources). The key is in this man, educating his children well," he said.

Yana added, considering the 2 years of the Covid-19 pandemic, learning was carried out online. So that the quality of education delivery also changes.

"Moreover, 2 years of the pandemic. Our students don't have face-to-face meetings, only online. Surely the quality of delivery will not be as good as the education through face-to-face meetings," said Yana.

In the same place, the Head of the Bandung City Education Office, Hikmat Ginanjar explained, this activity was attended by principals of public elementary schools to supervisors in the city of Bandung.

"This is a response to the Merdeka Learning program," he said.

He ensured that the city of Bandung was ready to welcome the program. Because it can be implemented effectively and efficiently through increasing competence and professional development of school principals.

For this reason, Hikmat continued, this activity provides material in the independent learning paradigm that has been set by the government.

"The city of Bandung is ready to welcome this program, it has been implemented in several driving schools. This answers the nation's challenges and improves the quality of education," he explained. (yan)**
