The Bandung City Government (Pemkot) received a working visit from the DKI Jakarta DPRD to exchange knowledge related to smart cities, government, finance, development, people's welfare to tourism.

During her visit, Deputy Chairperson of the DKI Jakarta DPRD, Rani Mauliani said that the city of Bandung is one of the barometers of the success of local governments.

"The city of Bandung has its own 'magic'. We want to gain knowledge from the city of Bandung in the fields of smart cities, government, finance, development, people's welfare to tourism," said Rani at Bandung City Hall, Thursday, June 23, 2022.

"This effort aims to give us input on how to formulate recommendations for the DKI Jakarta provincial government," he continued.

For this, the Mayor of Bandung, Yana Mulyana, said that the Covid-19 pandemic taught the Bandung City Government to continue to innovate in public services in order to minimize direct interaction so that services are more effective and efficient.

"This pandemic has taught us a lot, our friends in every OPD (regional device organizations) have made many applications to reduce interaction," said Yana.

Based on research by an institute in Singapore, Yana said, out of 130 cities around the world, Bandung is the only city from Indonesia that is ranked 28th smart city in the world.

"We can beat Dubai, Seoul and many cities in the world. From 10 indicators, we are good at 7 indicators," he said.

In addition, the City of Bandung also has the Bandung Command Center (BCC) as the mayor's command center to make decisions.

"All data can be retrieved there, everything is real-time. There are 24 hours there. We have 112 applications and reporting applications. We can make decisions from real-time data," he said.

Regarding tourism and culture, Yana said, the city of Bandung continues to strive to maintain and preserve heritage buildings.

"The city government has a commitment to take care of each other. There are many relics of Bung Karno's work. In the near future there will be Bung Karno's historical tour. Including other tour packages as well as the activation of cultural spaces," said Yana.

Yana hopes that this working visit can provide benefits for the two regions to continue to make improvements and improve services to the community.

"We are very happy that we can discuss and gain a lot of additional knowledge, solely to provide the best service for the community," he said. (rob)**
