Bandung City Government Targets Vaccine Booster to Reach 50 Percent by End of August

The Bandung City Government is targeting the third vaccination or booster to reach 50 percent by the end of August. Currently, the third vaccination has only reached 35.07 percent.

"There is still a 10-day lag time for us to carry out treatment ahead of Eid. The target is, by the end of August we can reach 50 percent for the third dose of vaccine," said the Daily Chair of the Covid-19 Task Force, Asep Gufron Wednesday, July 6, 2022.

It should be noted that the dose I vaccination in Bandung City has reached 113 percent. While the second dose reached 104 percent.

Asep said, each kelurahan will target 1,932 doses. The derivative target per week will be 33,500 doses of vaccination or 6,700 daily doses.

"This effort is to anticipate that there will be no spike like the previous months. Therefore, we must also collaborate with the region and the Health Office (Dinkes)," he said.

In this Eid al-Adha, the Bandung City Government ensures that the community can carry out the sacrificial service on 10 July with solemnity. Although currently there are new variants of Covid-19 cases, BA.4 and BA.5

Overall, active confirmation of Covid-19 in Bandung City for seven days from 29 June-5 July 2022 reached 51 cases.

According to Asep, the increase in cases began to occur in early June 2022 due to the impact of high community mobility during the Eid and other holidays.
