Tomorrow there will be traffic engineering in the Jakarta street area, note the rules!
To unravel the congestion in the Jalan Jakarta - Jalan Ahmad Yani (Cicadas) - Jalan Sukabumi - Supratman road area, the Bandung City Transportation Agency (Dishub) is implementing a traffic engineering trial starting tomorrow, Monday 22 August 2022.
The following is the pattern of traffic engineering in the area:
1. Sukabumi Street, originally 1 (one) way to 2 (two) directions.
2. Intersection of Jalan Sukabumi - Jalan Cianjur, a right turn is prohibited, to prevent the occurrence of intersections, so as not to cause potential new traffic obstacles.
3. For the morning (06.00 to 09.00WIB), all vehicles from Jalan Sukabumi are only allowed to turn left on Jalan Ahmad Yani (next to the flyover) and are prohibited from turning right into Cicadas.
This is intended to provide more road capacity space to reduce traffic density on Jalan Jakarta.
4. As for the afternoon (16.00 to 18.30 WIB), vehicles from Jalan Sukabumi are allowed to turn left and turn right to Cicadas on Jalan Ahmad Yani (in front of KFC) and are also allowed to turn under the flyover to Jalan Jakarta (only to Antapani direction).
Meanwhile, vehicles from Jalan Jakarta are prohibited from using the right side lane of the flyover. This is intended to reduce traffic loading in the Cicadas area (Jalan Ahmad Yani - Jalan Ibrahim Adjie).
5. The trial will be conducted for 1 (one) week and the socialization will begin at least 7 (seven) days prior to the implementation of the trial.
6. For Phase Two, the use of the Flyover option will be considered to be 2 (two) directions during the afternoon busy time (16.00-18.30 WIB). So that vehicles from Jalan Supratman can directly ride to the flyover then to Jalan Jakarta, Flyover Pelangi to the Antapani and Arcamanik areas.
7. The phase 2 pattern will be carried out after the evaluation of the implementation of the phase 1 trial.
Head of Traffic Division of the Bandung City Transportation Agency, Khairur Rijal explained, this engineering is not only intended to break down traffic density, but also an effort to maximize the capacity of existing road bodies in the area.
"So that there should not be one road that accumulates vehicles, but there are empty roads," said Rijal to the Public Relations of Bandung City.
He added that currently the fly over at the intersection of Jalan Jakarta - Ahmad Yani - Sukabumi - Supratman is still valid in one direction (from Jalan Jakarta to Jalan Supratman).
