Gebyar Imunisasi BIAN pada Jumat, 30 September 2022 di Graha Mutiara.

One of them, the UPT Puskesmas Sukahaji, Babakan Ciparay District, which held the BIAN Immunization Festival on Friday, September 30, 2022 at Graha Mutiara.

Head of UPT Puskesmas Sukahaji, drg. Mohamad Ali Mamora conveyed that the achievement for the Sukahaji and Babakan sub-districts had touched 45 percent.

"Our target is quite a lot of up to 3,300. Our achievements have only reached more than 1,400 who have been immunized," said Ali.

He said his team will try to reach the target of around 200-300 children on the last day. Although he admitted that there were obstacles in the optimization process of BIAN in his environment.

One of them is because the number of targets in the coverage area is very large, even being included in the top five in the city of Bandung.

"The problem is that the area here is a poor slum. Then, their livelihood is as laborers," he admitted.

"So they can't leave their jobs. When they leave their jobs, they don't get any income."

The strategy, which has been implemented since August-September, includes maximizing service hours at posyandu and puskesmas. Every day there is a BIAN schedule that the public can follow.

"We don't do door to door because there are 44 posyandu here. Almost every day the posyandu schedule is open until September 25. The Puskesmas is also open every day," he explained.

After that, his party combed through the remaining targets through immunization services at the puskesmas every day. Then, one last way to optimize BIAN is by involving all parties in the Mass BIAN Immunization Event.

"Until 12.00 WIB, we will see first. Hopefully it will be achieved before Friday," he hoped.

In order to attract the interest of parents and children, Sukahaji Health Center provides door prizes, souvenirs, and even clown entertainment.

"There were so many people who wanted to be involved when we moved it. Some contributed dolls, balloons, souvenirs, oil, and even bicycles for toddlers too. When they returned home, they received gifts and balloons," he said.

He said that so far there have been no cases of rubella measles in Babakan Ciparay. He hopes that BIAN will be one of the efforts to create safety for children from various diseases that cause paralysis, blindness, and death.

Meanwhile, the Head of Disease Prevention and Control at the Bandung City Health Office (Dinkes), dr. Ira Dewi Jani said that BIAN is aimed at establishing herd immunity. So the long duration of immunization will make herd immunity ineffective.

"If we extend the duration of the immunization, it will be more difficult for us to form herd immunity against rubella," he explained.

"In fact, at this BIAN, the City of Bandung needs 95 percent of those who have been vaccinated. Meanwhile, for those who are HAPPENING, it's enough for 80 percent of them to be able to create herd immunity," he said. (din)**
