One of them is through the Job Fair which will be held from November 2-3, 2022. This was conveyed by the Head of the Bandung City Manpower Office (Disnaker), Andri Darusman.

Based on data from the Manpower Office, before the Covid-19 pandemic, the unemployment rate in the city of Bandung was only 8.11 percent. However, in March 2020 the unemployment rate reached 9,000 people were laid off.

"By the end of 2021 the unemployment rate rose to 11.46 percent or 153,000 people. Hopefully in 2022, even though the pandemic is not over, the economy can bounce back," said Andri.

Efforts that are routinely carried out by the Manpower Office are to provide training in the form of competence, entrepreneurship, apprenticeship with companies so that by the end of 2022 the unemployment rate can fall again.

"There are apprenticeships that are carried out domestically and abroad. Apprenticeships that have been established are with Japan," he said.

Another cause of the rising unemployment rate is the large number of vocational and high school graduates who do not continue their education or college.

Andri explained, these factors accounted for 40 percent of the unemployment rate in the city of Bandung.

One of the other efforts to reduce the unemployment rate in Bandung is through online and offline Job Fairs.

Meanwhile, the Head of the Manpower Placement Division of the Bandung City Manpower Office, Marsana explained, the Manpower Office provides a Job Fair application called New Bimma.

"New Bimma is an employment application owned by the Manpower Office. Its function is to make it accessible to the public without having to come all the way to the office," said Marsana.

Various jobs can be chosen by the community according to their respective passions in the application. It has been two years since the online Job Fair has been held.

However, this year, an offline Job Fair will soon be held. The activity starts from November 2-3, 2022 at the Citylink Festival.

"There are 40 companies that will open booths later. There are 4,000 job vacancies (lockers) at this Job Fair," he admitted.

He targets as many as 50 percent of applicants can be accepted by the company. This is because last year the Manpower Office managed to reach more than 50 percent. In fact, the national standard is only 40 percent.

"This job fair is open to the public. Many are from high school, vocational school, and workers with disabilities, such as mildly disabled, deaf, and speech impaired," he said.

The companies that open the most lockers come from the retail sector, such as Alfamart, Indomarco, and other stores.

He appealed to applicants to prepare several things to be recruited by the company. Because there are seven companies that are ready to conduct interviews on the spot.

"Prepare a complete portfolio and documents. It must look attractive because there are seven companies that are ready to conduct on-the-spot interviews in the space provided," he explained.

He added that participants should not forget to bring their cellphones because registration will be done by scanning barcodes.

Marsana also said, there are several tips that can be done to make the curriculum vitae (CV) more attractive in the eyes of HRD.

"In our social media there are special tips on how to make a correct CV or job application and how to answer WA from HRD properly," he added. (din)**
