The Mayor of Bandung, Yana Mulyana, said that currently all infrastructure and activities at the Cihampelas Terrace have returned to life and are approaching normal. He visited the Cihampelas Terrace on Saturday, October 22, 2022 night.

“It was fun (hanging out on the Cihampelas Terrace). The air is cool, and even if it rains, I think this is a blessing rain,” said Yana.

Furthermore, he said, the supporting facilities and infrastructure at the Cihampelas Terrace can already be run. This includes toilet facilities, lighting, and also cleanliness.

Yana also thanked all Street Vendors (PKL) who were willing to re-commit to selling again in the Cihampelas Terrace area.

"Hopefully we can do the activation together. The hope is that the Cihampelas Terrace can become a tourist destination in the city of Bandung, "said Yana.

He invited the people of Bandung and tourists to look at this area as a tourist destination.

"But of course I entrust it, keep it clean, beautiful, orderly. Because this facility belongs to us together,” he ordered.

Cross OPD Collaboration
The return of the Cihampelas Terrace is a role from various layers, starting from street vendors as the people of Bandung City and also collaboration across OPDs in the Bandung City Government

Secretary of the Bandung City KUKM Office, Rajasa Leadership Berutu, said that all supporting facilities for the Cihampelas Terrace were in proper condition.

For example, the installation of toilets on terraces 2, 5, 8, and 11. This facility cannot be separated from the role of PDAM Bandung City.

Then the condition of the floor which had damaged the glass box, now looks beautiful. This is the result of polishing the Bandung City DSDABM.

As for street lighting facilities and also tree trimming to create a sense of security when visiting at night, this is the fruit of collaboration between the Bandung City Transportation Agency and Bandung City DPKP3.

"The KUKM Department also provides tents and chairs for traders," said Rajasa.

In addition, the role of street vendors who are willing to return to activities at the Cihampelas Terrace is also one of the factors for the revival of this area.

Rajasa said that currently there are 89 street vendors who have signed a re-commitment to return to selling in the Cihampelas Terrace area.

Alternative Entertainment Places in Bandung
The return of the Cihampelas Terrace makes Bandung City residents or tourists have more tourist attractions when spending time in Bandung City.

Rajasa also recommends this place to the people of Bandung who want to make activities such as book reviews, workshops, to zumba sports activities. Or to just spend time and enjoy the atmosphere of the city of Bandung.

“Please do the activities back here. Later we can write to us, because later we can see the availability of places, so that there are no clashes between one activity and another," he said.

“Access is 24 hours, food and drinks here are relatively cheap. The Cihampelas Terrace can be called a hangout solution that is not too expensive for us," Rajasa added.

In line with Yana, he also hopes that all visitors to the Cihampelas Terrace can jointly maintain this public facility so that it remains beautiful and comfortable to visit.

“Please come here, visit here. Maybe this is the only one in Indonesia that has something like this, yes, we need to be proud," he said.
