Reproductive Health Education, Youth Counseling and Information Center Group Present at School

The Head of the Population Control and Family Planning Agency, Kenny Dewi Kaniasari explained, the Population Alert School and Youth Information and Counseling Group (PIKR) activities aim to provide direction and guidance for the person in charge or education manager, teacher mentors in carrying out population and family empowerment programs.

These activities include increasing the distribution of information on education, counseling and services about family life for adolescents with segmentation of early teens (10-14 years).

Including increasing the knowledge of youth segmentation in early adolescence (10-14 years) about adolescent reproductive health, risk behavior and preparation for family life for adolescents.

"The establishment of the Youth Information and Counseling Center is one of the efforts to increase youth's knowledge regarding sexuality, early marriage and HIV/AIDS," he said.

Kenny explained that this was in accordance with the Decree of the Head of the Education Office No. PK. 03.02.07/7425-Disdik/IX/2022 Regarding the Establishment of the Information and Counseling Center Group for Youth (PIK R) at the Bandung City Junior High School.

This decision contains the stipulation of 20 Pilot Junior High Schools Formation of Adolescent Information and Counseling Center Groups as a form of implementation to minimize sexuality, early marriage and HIV/AIDS problems in adolescents.

"This activity was attended by 20 principals along with 2 representative students from 20 junior high schools. We provide socialization about youth counseling and information center groups in interesting and youth-friendly ways and methods," he explained.

Meanwhile, Head of the Bandung City Education Office, Hikmat Ginanjar said, this collaboration is a step to prepare for the demographic bonus period in 2045.

"So that today's youth will become qualified human beings in 2045," he explained.

In the same place, the Head of the Bandung City PKK TP, Yunimar Mulyana said that adolescent problems need to be addressed and intervened as early as possible.

"Youth Information and Counseling Centers need to be established in all junior high schools in Bandung, starting from 20 pilot junior high schools. It is even possible that at the elementary school level they will also become the target of education related to understanding reproductive health for adolescents," he said. (yan)**
