The Covid-19 pandemic in the city of Bandung is not over yet. This is because the number of active confirmations for Covid-19 is increasing. The Mayor of Bandung, Yana Mulyana explained, based on existing indicators, there was an increasing trend of Covid-19 cases in the city of Bandung.

"I also don't know whether this is the XBB variant or not. There has been an increase in cases, BOR has also increased. There has been an increase, so I have to be treated at the hospital," said Yana, Tuesday, November 15, 2022.

In fact, he said, the incidence of Covid-19 in the city of Bandung has reached around above 1,000 cases. The addition of active confirmation per day can reach 90-100 cases.

"Although the recovery rate is also high. Whereas before we were only 5-10 cases per day," he said.

Therefore, the Bandung City Government (Pemkot) will again place restrictions on public activities. Moreover, the new year will soon arrive. He is worried that this momentum will become a ticking time bomb for the city of Bandung.

"It seems that we will try to limit community activities again. The Bandung City Government is quite worried about the end of the year," he said.

"That too was predicted by the central government. After the end of the year, there is concern that there will be another increase because the mobility of residents will definitely increase at the end of the year," he added.

He revealed that events and concerts will be the focus of restrictions, either in terms of number or capacity.

"Definitely limited in number. Yesterday at the start of 100 percent, but we'll just look at it casually. Look at the activities too. This applies until after the new year," he said.

To deal with all eventualities that may occur, the Bandung City Government has prepared health facilities and additional vaccines.

"We also continue to improve boosters. We still believe that vaccination is one of our efforts to deal with a pandemic," he explained.

He also appealed to the people of Bandung City to remain disciplined in health protocols everywhere. At least wear a mask and keep your distance from each other.

"We always remind the public, this pandemic is not over yet. Let's continue to apply health protocols, at least wear masks and keep your distance," he added. (din)**
