Head of Disease Prevention and Control at the Bandung City Health Office, Ira Dewi Jani, reminded the people of Bandung City to always maintain health protocols and immediately carry out vaccinations to prevent the transmission of Covid-19.

"There was an increase in cases as of November 15, 2022," said Ira in Bandung Answering the Wednesday, November 16, 2022 edition.

Ira continued, currently the positivity rate status in Bandung is at 8.8 percent with a BOR level of around 20 percent with a conversion of 13 percent compared to the era of the pandemic explosion in mid-2021.

“In early October, the Covid-19 case in Bandung was very low. The active confirmed cases are at 229 in one week. That number continues to rise until now, "said Ira.

Regarding the easing of activities in the city of Bandung which was implemented some time ago, Ira said it was in line with the instructions of the Central Government.

Based on the results of the study, the position of Bandung City is at PPKM level 1, where all social activities get relaxation to close to normal.

On the other hand, Ira said the increase in cases in a region occurred because of the new (Covid-19) variant. Like for example the XXB variant.

However, Ira invites the people of Bandung City to remain calm. Because according to him, the effort to overcome the pandemic is to implement health protocols and carry out vaccinations.

Meanwhile, amid the increase in Covid-19 cases, the stock of vaccines in the city of Bandung was declared sufficient. In three stages, the City of Bandung will receive 5,000 vials of Pfizer vaccine.

For information, 1 vial dose can be used for 6 people, so the additional vaccine stock is in the range of 30,000 doses.

"Currently, regarding activity restrictions, I think we are still following the directions of the Ministry of Home Affairs, and this is appropriate. Perhaps the best way to do this is to tighten health protocols and vaccinate immediately,” Ira said.

Regarding vaccination information, you can monitor its availability on the social media of the Bandung City Health Office.

Separately, the Mayor of Bandung, Yana Mulyana, confirmed that the steps taken by the Bandung City Government to prevent a spike in Covid-19 cases included preparing existing health facilities.
