Beberapa Program Akselerasi Kota Bandung.

The following are the flagship programs of the City of Bandung to become a World Class City.

1. Digital IT Infrastructure
The Communication and Informatics Service (Diskominfo) ensures that the Bandung City Government (Pemkot) has prepared qualified infrastructure for the development of digital startups. This is reflected in the absence of blank spots (for internet access) in the city of Bandung.

The Head of Information Technology Infrastructure for the Bandung City Diskominfo, Mahyudin said that digitalization needs to be supported with the right IT infrastructure. Moreover, 80 percent of Bandung City residents are active internet users.

"The city of Bandung is also facing 5G, as a pilot for several regions in Indonesia. With this network, it can increase economic growth as well as make data growth wider and easier," he said.

Currently the Bandung City Government through the Office of Communication and Information (Diskominfo) has distributed free internet in 500 RWs.

This service was installed in a number of RW halls, a large sub-district mosque and in 30 parks spread across the city of Bandung.

2. Bandung Command Center (BCC)
One of the other 'kojo' programs owned by the Bandung City Government is the Bandung Command Center (BCC). In fact, a number of countries have collaborated with the City of Bandung through this program.

One of them is that the Petaling Jaya City Government (PJ) Malaysia was very inspired by the Bandung City Government (Pemkot) BCC. In fact, they could become the first city in Malaysia to have a command center for smart city development.

BCC does not only talk about security monitoring in the city of Bandung. However, also all services are integrated in the BCC server.

The Mayor of Bandung, Yana Mulyana said that currently the Bandung City Government is trying to create an application to reduce community service interactions during a pandemic. This application is integrated with BCC.

Based on this innovation, the Bandung City Government was included in the Top 50 Smart City Government Rankings released by the Eden Strategy Institute in March last year.

"The city of Bandung is the only area in Indonesia that is in the top 50. We are ranked 28th, flanked by the Swedish City of Oslo (27th) and the Chinese City of Hangzhou (29th)," he explained.

3. Cable-Free Bandung
As a smart city, the city of Bandung is also making improvements in aesthetic value. One of them is with an underground cable planting system (cable ducting). A total of 13 roads were targeted for ducting.

Head of Information Technology Infrastructure for the Bandung City Diskominfo, Mahyudin said, the lowering of the aerial cable on one of the roads, namely along Jalan Dago, was a sample project undertaken by Diskominfo for less than one year.

The Bandung City Government continues to work so that the main roads can soon be free of dangling cables in 2023.

4. 5G network
The Bandung City Government has installed a wireless internet network or wifi in 40 parks scattered at various points to provide work space for the community, thereby increasing productivity for the creation of economic recovery.

Mahyudin said the 5G network required proper facilities for the community. So that currently the government continues to work with the private sector to collaborate.

"The 5G network requires facilities. The tower is not a big one. Now the tower technology is like a small antenna. So our calculations need 4,000-5,000 towers, while there are 1,500 big ones," said Mahyudin.

He hopes that the free wifi facility in the city of Bandung can continue to be utilized by the community so as to encourage other private parties to participate in collaborating to follow the same thing.

According to him, Bandung City Diskominfo targets 50 parks in Bandung City to be facilitated by free WiFi. So that access to the internet network for public use can be more evenly distributed.

5. Development of Bandung City Metaverse
Bandung City Diskominfo together with Foundation-Owned Enterprises (BUMY) STMIK AMIK BANDUNG (SAB) campus collaborated in research and development of the Bandung City Metaverse prototype.

Bandung City Diskominfo Secretary, Darto AP said, with the existence of a metaverse it allows people to do things such as go to virtual concerts, travel online, create or view works of art and try on digital clothes to buy.

"Bandung, as the capital city of West Java Province, certainly doesn't want to be left behind by technology trends that continue to develop rapidly," said Darto.

In addition, the presence of the 3rd generation (3D) internet is one of the important things to welcome the Metaverse. Likewise, the 5G network is key in the Metaverse era.

"Thus, we hope that services to residents of the city of Bandung can be further improved through technological assistance," he said. (din)**
