Stunting Prevention Efforts, Health Office Distributes Antopometry Kits to Posyandu
The Bandung City Health Office distributed anthropometry kits at the Anggrek Posyandu RW 05 (Kampung Knitting) Binong Village, Batununggal District, Tuesday 17 January 2023.
Symbolically, this tool was distributed by the Head of TP PKK Bandung City Yunimar Mulyana.
To note, the anthropometry kit is a tool for measuring the weight and body of a child. Now, this tool has become a measure of the child's weight and body, replacing the role of conventional scales that are commonly found in posyandu.
Yunimar said that the presence of this anthropometry kit was one of the Bandung City Government's efforts to reduce stunting rates.
"With this tool, human error in measuring children's bodies can be suppressed. So that we can detect children who have the potential to be stunted and immediately take action," hoped Yunimar.
Yunimar said, apart from the presence of an anthropometry kit, at the regional level, an acceleration of 100 percent ODF also needed to be carried out to support the reduction of stunting rates.
Meanwhile, the Head of Public Health at the Bandung City Health Office, dr. Roro Theresia Widuri revealed that in 2022 there will be 350 anthropometry kits.
Furthermore, in 2023, the Bandung City Government will distribute another 300 anthropometry kits. Not only that, this year the Bandung City Health Office is also working on an additional 1,700 anthropometry kits to be distributed to posyandu in all urban villages.
"So it is hoped that all posyandu will get this tool," he said.
