The Chairperson of the Bandung City Deskranasda, Yunimar Mulyana said, the presence of HKTDC was a breath of fresh air for MSME players who are currently struggling to revive their economy after the Covid-19 pandemic.

"HKTDC Jakarta representatives visited here (Patrakomala Gallery Jalan Jakarta no. 35) to see the quality of our products. Because there were three areas he visited to see export potential in the future, namely Bandung, Surabaya and Bali," said Yunimar , Monday 30 January 2023.

Because now after three years of the pandemic, Hong Kong is open again for trade activities and visits. So that MSME actors can return to holding exhibitions to expand the market to Hong Kong.

"They have also been waiting for products from us. If there is an exhibition there, we can also send business actors or there are other collaborations that can be collaborated with their companies and the Hong Kong government," he explained.

In fact, in 2019, as many as 20 businesses fostered by Dekranasda took part in an exhibition at Hong Kong Fashion Week.

Meanwhile, Director of the Jakarta Representative HKTDC, Kevin Chiu said, his goal was to visit the city of Bandung to inform him that Hong Kong had again opened up opportunities for business.

"We also want to help the city of Bandung showcase its products through platforms in Hong Kong to the international market," said Kevin.

Given the three years of the pandemic, various business activities have experienced a decline. In fact, Hong Kong has also canceled many trade cooperation due to the pandemic.

To stimulate international trade again, the plan is that on March 21 2023, they will hold an online seminar for MSME players.

"We want to help business people find out how to expand the market to Hong Kong in an online seminar on March 21, 2023," he said.

Some of the speakers will also explain their experiences when visiting Hong Kong and expanding their business there.

Apart from that, Kevin admitted that he was very impressed when he saw handmade products made by UMKM in Bandung City.

According to him, the product packaging here meets international standards. In fact, there are some who already use English in their packaging.

"Maybe it's because many of the products here have been exported as well. So this could be a great opportunity for the city of Bandung to continue and expand the international market on the Hong Kong platform by sending products on a larger scale," he added. (din)**
