"That (kidnapping issue) has been denied by the police," said Yana at the Bandung City Hall, Tuesday, January 31, 2023.

Yana instructed all education units to increase vigilance and anticipation so that students remain safe until they come home from school. In addition, he also encourages parents to increase vigilance in their environment.

"The role of parents and school functions is important. God willing, we will continue to tighten security at schools," said Yana.

Meanwhile, the Head of the Bandung City Education Office, Hikmat Ginanjar, conveyed that the issue of child kidnapping was of concern to the Education Office. However, the public must also be careful and check the information circulating in advance.

"This is our concern. Don't panic but stay alert. Re-check the information circulating so that you don't fall for fake news or hoaxes," said Hikmat.

Hikmat reminded educators and education staff in all educational units to be alert and anticipate so that students remain safe until they come home from school.

"It needs to be anticipated, namely always coordinating with parents of students," he said.

It should be known together, there are several things that need to be done to avoid kidnapping children at school.

Among them do not join strangers; always communicate with parents of students; after the learning activities are finished, go straight home; if you haven't been picked up, you can wait in the classroom or school area with friends or teachers; and don't panic but stay alert.

In addition, the Bandung City Government has also prepared an emergency service, namely Bandung Siaga 112. This service makes it easier for the public to remember emergency numbers. (rob)**
