Realizing Healthy Bandung, This is the Strategy of Babakan Ciparay District
To support and realize the City of Bandung as a Healthy City, the Babakan Ciparay Subdistrict has intensively built hundreds of communal septic tanks.
Head of Babakan Ciparay sub-district, Suparjo said, in 2023 the Babakan Ciparay sub-district has budgeted IDR 1.7 billion for the program to realize Healthy Bandung through the construction of 114 communal septic tanks.
"We require all RWs in Babakan Ciparay Subdistrict to build at least 2 communal septic tanks in their area. We have 57 RWs, so in total this year we will build 114 communal septic tanks," he said as a guest speaker on the Ngariung Podcast on Regional Potential in Babakan Ciparay District, Tuesday February 7, 2023.
Suparjo said the construction of a communal septic tank was also to support the city of Bandung 100 percent Open Defecation Free (ODF).
"We are coordinating with the DPKP (Housing and Settlement Area Office) for large communal areas. We apply small ones because we are a densely populated area, the data shows the population of Babakan Ciparay District is more than 140,000 residents," he said.
Apart from that, Babakan Ciparay Sub-District also distributes clean water facilities to the community through the Tirtawening Regional Drinking Water Company.
He invited the community to change their behavior and maintain environmental sanitation to keep it clean.
"We remind the lurahs to educate the public to maintain environmental sanitation," he said.
Babakan Ciparay sub-district also collaborated with Citarum Harum to encourage able-bodied residents and companies to build good environmental sanitation.
"If they violate the action against Citarum Harum, God willing, this will continue," he said.
To note, in order to become a Healthy City, the City of Bandung must meet 9 orders which are the assessment criteria in the Healthy City indicator.
There are 9 arrangements that need to be implemented, namely settlement arrangements, healthy facilities and infrastructure; arrangement of orderly traffic facilities and healthy transportation services; healthy industrial and office settings.
Apart from that is the arrangement of healthy tourism areas; healthy mining; healthy forest; independent healthy community life; food security and nutrition; and a healthy social order. (rob)**
