Creating Young Entrepreneurs, Dispora and Unpas Initiate Entrepreneurship Development Programs

To give birth to young entrepreneurs, the Bandung City Youth and Sports Service (Dispora) together with Pasundan University (Unpas) will hold an entrepreneurship development program titled One Product One Community (OPOC) FGD and Talent Mapping on Tuesday 14 February 2023.

Bandung City Youth and Sports Department will recruit and direct students as young entrepreneurs.

Ceppy Taufik Akbar said that through OPOC, students are directed to do something productive.

Later students participating in the OPOC FGD can also take part in entrepreneurship training from the Youth and Sports Office entitled Dispora Entrepreneur Camp (Cempor).

"Students who attend the FGD activities can take part in Dispora Entrepreneur Camp (Cempor) or some kind of entrepreneurship training. We will provide assistance, up to access to financing, pitch decks, and promotions," he said, Tuesday 7 February 2023.

According to him, the obstacles that are usually experienced by young entrepreneurs revolve around the entrepreneur's mindset, product determination, business legality, financial records, sales and promotions, human resources, to capital in the form of assets or working capital.

Activities are focused on the production sector to train and build participants' understanding of the level of complexity and risk from the production side.

"The training does not only focus on one area, but is based on the needs gathered from the FGD results," said Ceppy.

Bandung City Dispora provides 12 training modules, ranging from barbershop, barista, videography and editing, animation, wood craft, product and packaging design, pastry and bakery, product photos, body care, content creators, and exporter training.

"The OPOC program collaborates with companies so that participants directly have access to business capital. The OPOC target itself is to give birth to young entrepreneurs who are able to utilize digital technology," he said.

Participants in the OPOC FGD and Talent Mapping will receive various materials from resource persons. Among them are career and financial consultants, young entrepreneurs and influencers, and digital marketing practitioners.

Bandung City Dispora will also hold a talk show session on access to financing, the importance of digital collaboration, and legality support for young, novice entrepreneurs.

Meanwhile, Deputy Chancellor III Unpas Deden Ramdan hopes that the strategic collaboration between the Bandung City Youth and Sports Agency and Unpas can strengthen entrepreneurial character among students.

"This also answers the challenge that the absorption capacity of university graduates is now very broad and not only as ASN. Many start entrepreneurship,” he explained.

Unpas is also trying to be involved in the hexahelix collaboration, especially in increasing the number of young start-up entrepreneurs according to the mandate of Law No. 40/2009 concerning Youth. (rob)**
