Cibaduyut Becomes a Creative Tourism Village, Yana: Quality Products

Mayor of Bandung, Yana Mulyana inaugurated the 7th Creative Tourism Village (KWK) in Bandung City. This time, it is the Cibaduyut shoe center creative tourism village.

KWK is one of the promises made by the Mayor of Bandung. The target is to have 8 KWKs in the city of Bandung.

The other six KWKs are in Braga, Cigadung, Knitting Binongjati, Literasi Cinambo, Cigondewah and Pasir Kunci.

According to Yana, Cibaduyut is well-known as a center for quality leather shoes. This area is also still one of the tourist shopping destinations in the city of Bandung.

"This place can produce good goods and trigger economic growth in the Cibaduyut center," Yana said at the inauguration of the Cibaduyut Shoes Sentra KWK, Monday, March 13, 2023.

He explained that the spirit of tourism in the city of Bandung is directed towards creativity and innovation. This strategy was carried out by creating creative villages. Creative tourism villages are generally made based on the skills of the local community.

"This center is equipped with the infrastructure. For example, make a tour package. So that person can travel by 'shuttle' so everyone doesn't need to bring their own car, so packages are made. This is easier to reduce congestion," he said.

Yana hopes that the activation of the Cibaduyut creative shoe village will have a significant effect on the city's economy.

"This time we are activating the Cibaduyut creative village for shoes. After this we will activate the Gedebage creative village," he said.

In the same place, the Head of the Bandung City Culture and Tourism Office, Arief Syaifudin said, the Bandung City Government (Pemkot) is trying to create a superior, comfortable, prosperous and religious City of Bandung. One of them, with the tourism economy and creative arts.

"Disbudpar collaborates with government and non-government partners. This tourist village is part of the Bandung Mayor's promise to develop 8 tourist villages," he explained.

He ensured that the activation of this tourist village had met the standards of a creative tourism village.

"This is a positive energy for creative economy culture in the city of Bandung," he said.

Meanwhile, Member of the Bandung City DRRD Commission B, Asep Mulyadi, assessed that the Cibaduyut shoe center deserves attention in Indonesia.

"The work is good. There is one craftsman whose products reach Italy. This means that the creativity of the Bandung people is great. Our job is to provide facilities and help with marketing so that the existing potential is greater," he said. (yan)**
