Kepala Bidang Distribusi dan Perdagangan Pengawasan Kemetrologian, Dinas Perdagangan dan Perindustrian (Disdagin) Kota Bandung, Meiwan Kartiwa

This was disclosed by the Head of Distribution and Trade for Metrological Supervision, the Bandung City Trade and Industry Service (Disdagin), Meiwan Kartiwa when he was a guest speaker for Bandung Responding, Tuesday 14 March 2023.

For this reason, Meiwan appealed to the public not to panic buy and hoard basic necessities too much.

"God willing, everything is still safe and available. Don't buy too much so as not to disturb the stock of goods. God willing, stocks of basic necessities are safely available," he said.

Meiwan also ensured that his party would take firm action if it was found that there was hoarding of the community's basic needs.

The Bandung City Regional Office of Dagin regularly monitors the field to ensure that prices and stocks of staple goods are available properly.

"We routinely monitor prices in the field. If there is a shortage, the price will definitely be high. We also carry out spot checks on distributors with relevant agencies to prevent stockpiling of staples," he said.

"If there are traders selling at unreasonable prices, please report them to the Department of Trade and Industry," he added.

From the results of field observations, said Meiwan, there were indeed several commodities that had experienced an increase. But it is still in a reasonable stage.

It should be noted, the average red cayenne pepper is Rp. 70-80 thousand per kilogram, green cayenne pepper is Rp. 60-70 thousand per kilogram. Other commodities are still stable, chicken eggs are still at IDR 27-29 thousand, chicken meat IDR 34-36 thousand, beef IDR 120-140 thousand.

"Bulk or packaged cooking oil is still available. Granulated sugar is safely available in the market," he said.

He also invited the public to come to the bazaar held by the Bandung City Government to get various kinds of basic needs at affordable prices.

"Please come to the bazaar, to get a variety of cheap staples," he said. (rob)**
