This retention pond has an area of 2,280 square meters and a land area of 1.2 hectares. In addition, this retention pond has a capacity of 8,000 cubic meters.

Yana positively welcomed the inauguration of the Cisanggarung Retention Pool. According to him, this is one of the Bandung City Government's efforts to overcome the potential for flooding, especially in the Mandalajati District and Arcamanik District.

"Apart from flood prevention efforts, this is also to save water and raise the groundwater level in the city of Bandung, of course," said Yana.

With a large area of land and maximum greening support, Yana is also optimistic that the Cisanggarung Retention Pool can become one of the new public spaces in the city of Bandung.

Nevertheless, Yana asked all parties to maintain this facility so that it remains comfortable to visit and useful for all the people of the city of Bandung.

"With the construction of this retention pond, flood points, especially in flood-affected areas such as Arcamanik District, or the Cingised area, hopefully, it can be completed," said Yana.

Meanwhile, the Head of the Bandung City Water Resources and Highways Service (DSDABM), Didi Ruswandi said that currently there have been 10 retention ponds being built in the City of Bandung.

He also stated that the Cisanggarung Retention Pond could hold up to 8,000 liters of water and believed that the impact of flooding on areas such as Arcamanik District could be minimized.

"Earlier, friends in the region also gave a statement, they said that the floods in their area were starting to decrease," he explained.

In addition to retention ponds, several efforts by the Bandung City Government to prevent potential flooding and manage rainwater in the city of Bandung include building pump houses and recharge wells.

"This (Cisanggarung Retention Pond) will be built in 2022. And for 2023 we are preparing a retention pond in Margahayu Raya," he explained.

In the same place, the Secretary of Commission C DPRD Bandung City, Maya Himawati hopes that this retention pond can be a solution to the problem of flooding, especially in the affected area, namely Arcamanik District.

"We also invite the community to jointly maintain this retention pond," he said. (ray)**
