Increasing Professionalism, Bandung City Government Trains Banpol PP

The presence of Civil Service Police Assistance (Banpol PP) in securing and enforcing Regional Regulations (Perda) is very important to cover the shortage of Satpol PP personnel. Existing personnel will not be able to oversee all areas in the city of Bandung.

To be able to carry out the task of assisting Satpol PP, of course Banpol PP must have certain qualifications. For this reason, it is important to be given training to improve professionalism in work.

This was stated by the Mayor of Bandung, Yana Mulyana when closing the Kepamongprajaan Education and Training which was held by the Bandung City Satpol PP at the Territorial Education Center (Pusdikter) Kodiklat TNI AD West Bandung Regency, Wednesday 15 March 2023.

"Through this capacity building activity, it is hoped that there will be changes from Banpol PP personnel to a better direction in terms of attitude, insight, knowledge, and soft skill abilities of the participants," said Yana.

This, continued Yana, is very necessary because of the heavy responsibility of the Satpol PP, so members are needed who are competent, understand their main tasks and functions, and have high attitudes and integrity.

"After participating in this capacity building activity, I asked Banpol PP to apply the soft skills they already have in carrying out their daily tasks," he said.

Yana believes that all members of Banpol PP have the same understanding and desire to carry out their duties of providing services to the people of Bandung City as well as possible.

"Within the scope of Satpol PP duties, this service is in the form of enforcing regional regulations and maintaining order, peace and public protection. God willing, the Banpol PP participating in this activity already understands this role," he said.

Meanwhile, the Head of the Civil Service Police Unit for the City of Bandung, Rasdian Setiadi said, this activity aims to train discipline for Banpol PP.

Rasdian said that a total of 439 participants were trained and divided into two waves.

The participants were given various kinds of training in discipline, military self-defense, marching and various other training materials.

"The point is to increase capacity. Both from a personal and work discipline character. Collaborate with colleagues, so that they learn to line up together, and learn the soul of the corsa through outbound and love for their unit," he said. (rob)**
