This year, the Bandung Lautan Api commemoration carries the theme "Building a Spirit of Togetherness in Bonding Unity and Oneness".

The logo has several elements. First, the shape of a fire and two pillars, representing the Bandung Lautan Api monument.

Second, two seven-point numbers glued together to represent the number 77 Years. Third, three sharp bamboo sticks and a hero, representing the spirit of the fighters in the Bandung Lautan Api incident.

Lastly, the reddish yellow color on top of the blue color, represents the burning fire above Bandung.

The highlight of the Bandung Ocean of Fire Day commemoration this time is planned to be held at the Bandung City Hall Plaza, Friday, March 24 2023.

For information, Bandung Lautan Api was a major fire event that occurred in the city of Bandung, West Java, on March 23, 1946.

About 200,000 Bandung residents burned their homes, within seven hours, leaving the city for the mountains south of Bandung.

This was done to prevent allied troops and Dutch NICA troops from using the city of Bandung as a strategic military base, in the Indonesian war of independence.

The commemoration of Bandung Lautan Api Day (BLA) reminds the Indonesian nation of the history of the struggle of all Indonesian youth elements who have spread the spirit of protecting the spirit of Indonesian youth patriotism.

Youth have also managed to unify the national vision, give birth to a complete national commitment, that is, one motherland of Indonesia, the nation of one Indonesian nation, and uphold the unified Indonesian language.

The commemoration of Bandung Sea of Fire Day this year is expected to inspire youth creative ideas, through real work in answering the mandate and challenges of the times in the era of globalization. (rob)**
