Bandung City Government Accelerates Air Cable Lowering on Jalan Riau

Regional Secretary, Ema Sumarna targets, until the first quarter of 2023, the ducting process along Jalan Riau can be realized soon. At least from the intersection of Jalan Ir. H. Djuanda (Dago) to the intersection of Jalan Banda.

"We agreed on the first quarter of Trase Riau Dago and Riau Banda. In the second week of April everything has gone down. If you don't follow, we will cut it," said Ema while chairing a coordination meeting on evaluating the reduction of cables (ducting) with telecommunications operators at the Bandung City Hall, Tuesday, March 21, 2023.

Ema said that the decrease in the cable must become the concern of the Bandung City Government and all operators and telecommunications companies.

For this reason, Ema ordered the tidying of cables to be carried out every day, in order to present the city's aesthetics.

"We continue to keep things in order by tidying up the cables, if possible every day there are cable fires on various roads," he said.

Meanwhile, the Head of the Bandung City Communication and Information Service, Yayan Ahmad Brilyana, said that he had prepared ducting along the Sariningsih Hospital to the Banda Road Intersection for 1,800 meters.

In 2023, it is targeted that the cable reduction will have been completed on Jalan Wastukencana to Simpang Ahmad Yani.

"The target is Jalan Wastukancana to the Ahmad Yani intersection for 5 kilometers. We will prioritize the Riau road from Sariningsih Hospital to the Banda intersection for 1,800 meters on the left and right of the road.

Yayan said that the tidiness of the cables has become the concern of the wider community. Therefore, he asked all telecommunications operators to actively participate in lowering the cable.

"There are still approximately 25-30 hanging FOs and 137 poles interfering along the Sariningsing Hospital to Simpang Banda. Everything must be compact, everything is ready, all that remains is the commitment to lower it," he said.

Yayan emphasized that all telecommunications operators must comply with the rules. If until the specified time has not been lowered, then the cable will be cut.

"We emphasize that everyone must follow the rules. Until the end of April, those who don't follow us will cut them out," he said.

For information, the Bandung City Government has a target of lowering aerial cables on 13 roads, including: Jalan Ir. H. Djuanda (Dago), L.L.R.E Martadinata (Riau), Sudirman, Wastukancana, Purnawarman, Sumatra, Cibaduyut, Otista and also Jalan Soekarno Hatta.
