Mayor of Bandung Optimistic Economic Growth in 2023 soaring

The Mayor of Bandung, Yana Mulyana said that economic growth in the city of Bandung in 2022 would be in a good position, namely at 5.41 percent. This figure exceeds economic growth in West Java and also at the national level.

He conveyed this when opening the Kick Off Lively Rupiah Ramadan and Blessings of Idul Fitri (Serambi) 2023 at Bank Indonesia West Java, Jalan Braga No. 108 Bandung City, Monday 27 March 2023.

Yana expressed her appreciation for this achievement. According to him, the success of the Bandung City Government in maintaining a positive trend of economic growth cannot be separated from the participation of Bank Indonesia and related elements such as the Financial Services Authority (OJK).

"Alhamdulillah, data from BPS shows that our inflation is the best in West Java in 2022. This also cannot be separated from the active role of BI and OJK, of course," said Yana.

He also positively welcomed the 2023 Serambi Kick Off as a small denomination currency exchange service for the people during Ramadan and Eid Al-Fitr 1444 H.

"Sharing with relatives or with anyone during Eid is a good habit and also a positive trend in the city of Bandung. From now on, people can take advantage of this service so that the amount of money exchanged is correct," he said.

For information, the Serambi 2023 Kick Off, which is a money exchange service for the public, is available at 800 points spread across West Java. Through this program, Bank Indonesia throughout West Java has prepared Rp. 18.3 trillion in cash.

On the other hand, Yana also hopes that the controlled situation of the Covid-19 pandemic in the city of Bandung can have a positive impact on economic growth in the city of Bandung.

On that occasion, Yana conveyed that the economic growth target for the City of Bandung in 2023 was at 6 percent.
