This support was expressed by Plh. The Mayor of Bandung, Ema Sumarna, during the Bandung Polrestabes conducted a Group Discussion Forum (FGD) at the Bandung City Hall Auditorium, Wednesday 30 August 2023.

According to him, the Drug Free Village program is an effort to strengthen the dangers of drugs for the community by carrying out the Overtime Cepot Champion (Quick Effective Proactive Selfless) program.

Currently, one of the drug-free villages is in Kebon Jeruk Village, Andir District.

"Thank you to Polrestebes Bandung for initiating this activity. We support the establishment of a drug-free village in the city of Bandung," said Ema.

According to him, drugs are still a big problem. So efforts are needed to save the younger generation who are often targeted by drugs. For this reason, there needs to be synergy working together to eradicate drugs.

"To form this village, you have to work hand in hand, it's not enough for the government elements as well as BNN, but active community involvement starting from community leaders, RT, RW to activators such as youth organizations, KNPI and so on," said Ema.

According to Ema, the role of the community is very important. Due to the limited number of officers available, this is the main reference for minimizing circulation.

"The role of the community is very important, because circulation is also not covered by the limitations of existing officers. So the public who is informed also has a role to minimize circulation," he explained.

He said that there are 19 sub-districts in Bandung City that are in the red zone for drugs. So that the presence of the village can reduce drug trafficking.

"Our target is that 19 sub-districts will enter the red zone, of course we want to reduce it gradually, we hope that the yellow zone will reach the green zone, so that the city of Bandung is drug-free," he said.

Meanwhile, the Bandung Police Chief, Kombes Pol Budi Sartono explained, the function of the village or Overtime Cepot is an effort to accelerate efforts to minimize drug trafficking.

The Cepot Champion Overtime Program is part of the Prevention, Eradication, Abuse and Illicit Narcotics Circulation (P4GN).

"It's not just the law that is being carried out, so it will be inflamed in every sub-district, especially the red zone," he said.

He admitted that there are 19 sub-districts in the city of Bandung which are included in the drug red zone.

There are 19 sub-districts that are the result of monitoring by the Bandung Polrestabes and BNN. Among them are Andir, Coblong, Sukajadi, Kircon, Cicendo, Bojongloa Kaler, Regol, Batunggungal, Rancasari, Cibeunying Kidul, Buahbatu, Sukasari, Bojongloa Kidul, and Ujungberung districts.

"Including the districts of Cibeunying Kaler, Antapani, Lengkong, Babakan Ciparay and Bandung Kulon," he explained. (Yan) **
