City Government Inaugurates Famous Braga to Bring to Life the Legendary Charm of Bandung City
The Bandung City Government officially launched the Braga Beken (Vehicle Free) initiative, a step to restore the beauty, authenticity and charm of Jalan Braga.
"We hope that by making Braga Road Beken (vehicle-free), the people of Bandung City can enjoy the historical beauty and tranquility offered by this road," said the Acting Mayor of Bandung, Bambang Tirtoyuliono accompanied by the Chairman of the Bandung City DPRD, at Braga City Walk, Saturday , May 4, 2024.
Even though we have provided 11 parking lots to support accessibility, one of the main challenges faced is ensuring that no illegal levies (extortion) occur in the Braga area and its surroundings.
Responding to this concern, Bambang emphasized that mitigation steps would be taken for the smooth implementation of Braga Beken.
"When we launched the Vehicle-Free Braga Beken, we were also committed to managing problems such as waste management and potential extortion seriously," said Bambang.
According to Bambang, Braga Beken will continue to be evaluated periodically. The evaluation will involve all stakeholders including the community to ensure consistency and sustainability.
"It is hoped that this step can bring a new revival to Jalan Braga as a tourist attraction and well-preserved cultural heritage in the city of Bandung," said Bambang. (ziz)**
