Thanks to Henry Dunant's role, almost the entire world has a Red Cross. This includes the city of Bandung which has the Indonesian Red Cross.

Not only that, PMI Bandung City also has a Volunteer Corps (KSR). Most of the members of KSR PMI Bandung City are young people who are committed to saving lives, reducing suffering, and improving health and welfare.

Founded in 1955, KSR PMI Bandung City has a proud history of providing humanitarian assistance to the community, including disaster management, emergency medical treatment, and public health initiatives.

One of the volunteer members of KSR PMI Bandung City, Nurlaela Sari told about her involvement in PMI Bandung City. Starting from simple curiosity, it sparked him to get involved
in PMI volunteer activities.

"I first got involved just to read a flyer about volunteers. I read the PMI volunteer letterhead and there were activities there such as going to disasters and traffic accidents. There I was interested in becoming a volunteer," he said.

Previously active in other organizations, Nurlaela felt a significant difference when she joined KSR PMI.

"I found that volunteers here are treated professionally and provided with adequate training facilities. That makes me even more motivated to make a meaningful contribution," he said.

The most memorable experience for Nurlaela was when she was involved in landslide disaster response efforts in Cimanggung Sumedang. In the midst of his daily life as a traffic safety volunteer, the transition to a disaster zone presents new challenges.

"Especially at that time, it was still during the Covid-19 pandemic," said Nurlaela.

Meanwhile, another member of KSR PMI Bandung city, Saddam Adri Perdana, revealed his initial motivation when he wanted to become a member of KSR PMI Bandung city.

“I want to be a more useful person. The PMI Bandung city service is very good so I am also interested in developing it. "It can also increase my ability to help the local community," he admitted.

Even though they are ready to help when a disaster occurs, Nurlaela and Saddam really hope that no disaster in any form will occur. (vid.job)**
