Monitoring and Evaluation of Public Information Openness, Bandung City Government Targets Informative Indicators Tenth Time

The Bandung City Government (Pemkot) is targeting the Informative indicator for the tenth time in Monitoring and Evaluation of Public Information Openness in West Java.

This was conveyed by the Head of the Bandung City Communication and Information Service (Diskominfo), Yayan A. Brilyana when taking part in the Electronic-Based Monitoring and Evaluation of the Implementation of Law No. 14 of 2008 concerning Openness of Public Information in Public Bodies in West Java 2024.

“Monev is good. "We feel that there are many benefits from Public Information Openness," said Yayan at Gedung Sate, Tuesday 9 July 2024.

Yayan underlined that the benefits of Public Information Openness include program outreach and minimizing the impact of criminal acts of corruption. The monitoring and evaluation process carried out via the application will make it easier.

“We are pursuing the Informative target for the tenth time. However, the previous target was as directed by the West Java Regional Secretary. "How can this openness of public information improve the welfare of the citizens of Bandung City," he explained.

Meanwhile, Chairman of the West Java Information Commission, Ijang Faisal, stated that his party was committed to holding monitoring and evaluation by improving its supporting aspects. At this event, the organizations being monitored are not only Regency/City Public Bodies, BUMD, OPD, but there are also Bureaus.

"This is part of the process of encouraging openness of public information in West Java. In the last monitoring and evaluation, 14 regencies/cities were informed. "We hope this number will increase," said Ijang.

On this occasion, the Regional Secretary of West Java, Herman Suryatman advised that openness of public information could have a welfare impact for all citizens of West Java.

He also informed that the Public Information Openness index in West Java was in a very good position with an index of 84.43. The West Java Provincial Government is committed to accelerating progress in West Java from the village level.

"God willing, West Java will be at the forefront of contributing to Indonesia," he concluded.
