Coat and Flag

The coat of arms of the city of Bandung was determined by the Regional Regulation of the Great City of Bandung in 1953, dated June 8, 1953, which was permitted by Presidential Decree dated April 28, 1953 No. 104 and promulgated in the Provincial Gazette of West Java dated August 28, 1954 No. 4 attachment No. 6 The symbol is a SHIELD in the shape of a HEART. The shield is divided into two halves by a horizontal crossbar titled four pieces, which are BLACK with a WHITE (SILVER) colored seam on the top edge:

SYMBOL
The top part of the background is YELLOW (GOLD) with a painting of a GREEN MOUNTAIN resting on the blocks.

The bottom of the background is WHITE (SILVER) with a painting of four horizontal wavy lines in BLUE.

Under the shield was painted a YELLOW (GOLD) ribbon waving at both ends. On the ribbon was written in black capital letters in black proverbs in the KAWI language, which read GEMAH RIPAH WIBAWA MUKTI.

As a symbol, it takes the form of a shield or shield, which is known by culture and civilization as a weapon in the struggle to achieve a goal by protecting oneself. Such tools of struggle are used as symbols which have the meaning of resisting all dangers and difficulties.

YELLOW (GOLD), means: prosperity, nobility.
BLACK (SABEL), means: sturdy, upright, strong.
GREEN (SINOPEL), means: cool prosperity
WHITE (SILVER), means: purity
BLUE (AZUUR), means: loyalty
Gemah ripah wibawa mukti, means: fertile land of prosperous people

 


FLAG


The flag used by the Municipality of Bandung is based on the Decree of the Temporary Regional House of Representatives for the City of Bandung dated June 8, 1953 No. 9938/53.

The form of the flag is as stated in the dictum of the decision as follows:

The flag used by the Big City of Bandung and the three horizontal lines, respectively from top to bottom are GREEN, YELLOW and BLUE

The ratios between the width and the lines under the letters in order from top to bottom are 2:1:2

The ratio between the length and width is different 7:5
