The Savoy Homann Hotel Heritage Building was built in 1880. This hotel was built and owned by a German citizen named A. Homann. Before being named Savoy Homann this hotel had the name Hotel Pos Road. The building style of the Pos Road Hotel at that time was in the baroq style. In 1883 the building style was changed to art nouveau architectural style.

In 1910, the old hotel was demolished and a new hotel was built with a gothic revival architectural style. In 1938 the hotel building was again demolished and replaced with a new hotel with a modern international style (nieuw bouwen).

The redevelopment was carried out by architect A.F. Aalbers. Aalbers made a new, more modern building in accordance with the wishes of the Bandung City Council at that time. The new building of the Hotel Savoy Homann is the culmination of the work of modern architect A.F. Aalbers became an icon of the architectural movement in the Dutch East Indies before World War II

Hotel Savoy Homann has also functioned as a Japanese guest house (1942-1945) and a PMI guesthouse (1945-1948). In 1949 its function was returned as a hotel as before.

At the time of the Asian-African Conference in 1955, the Savoy Homann Hotel was used as a place to stay for heads of state such as Gamal Abdul Nasser, Chuo En Lai, Jawaharlal Nehru, Soekarno, Sir John Kotelawala and others. At that time, Hotel Savoy Homann was managed by Fr. J. van Es who once managed the Des Indes Hotel in Jakarta.
