Vaccination development in Bandung City keeps improving. Data gathered from the Health Agency (Dinkes) of Bandung City show that the third dose vaccination has reached 27,28% from the target of 30% by the end of April.

“In fact, the first and second dose vaccination have exceeded the target. The first dose vaccination has reached 113%. On the other hand, the second dose vaccination has reached 103,24%,” said the Head of Primer and Traditional Health Service of Dinkes of Bandung City, Teti Hendriani Agustin on Wednesday, 13 April in the Bandung City Hall.

With the improvement, Teti was optimistic that Bandung City residents could safely go mudik this year. However, obviously, there are several things that must be considered before mudik.

“For those who have been vaccinated with a booster, they do not have to provide an antigen or PCR test. However, for mudik travellers who have just been vaccinated with the second dose, they must provide an antigen test. Whereas those vaccinated with the first dose must provide PCR test,” she emphasized.

Thus, how about those who have just recovered from omicron?

Teti said that the vaccination was still the same. It just required time adjustment for the vaccination.

Mudik travellers who have been infected with omicron with mild and medium symptoms must wait for a month to be vaccinated. Whereas for those with severe symptoms must wait for up to three months to be vaccinated,” she said.

To increase the herd immunity, Teti said that Dinkes of Bandung City would collaborate with Polrestabes in providing vaccination posts in several areas.

“We have anticipated for the possibility to provide health posts. However, its number cannot be equal with that of security posts,” she said.

“The plan is that they will be opened in crowded areas such as Cicaheum, Ledeng, and Leuwi Panjang Terminal. We will also provide ones in tourist attractions,” she said.

However, Teti asked that although vaccination posts would be available during mudik, the public should be vaccinated before going home.

“You can come directly in the vaccination post in the City Hall. It is open 8-18 April at 08.00-13.00. The target is that every day it can reach up to 200 people,” she said.

In line with Teti, vaccination progress for mudik travellers was also stressed by the Head of Operational Division of Polrestabes of Bandung, AKBP Asep Pujiono.

“We still have the time until the next two weeks. Let us accelerate the third dose vaccination. We must also comply with the health protocols,” Asep said.

In preparing for Eid Mubarak 1443 mudik, Polrestabes of Bandung City will keep coordinating with Organda, the Communication Agency, and Dinkes to ensure security during mudik.

“For people who have not been vaccinated with the third dose, we will provide officers and health facilities in the posts. Do not bring any diseases when going home. Must depart and go home safely,” he said. (din)*
