The exhibition carries the theme "Sustaining My Batik, Jaya Negeriku". A number of paintings display various typical Indonesian batik patterns with various color motifs.

The Chairperson of the Bandung City Dekranasda Yunimar Mulyana took the time to see it, Friday 2 December 2022.

Yuni admitted that she did not expect that the paintings on display were the work of students from SMPN 7 Bandung City.

"I didn't expect and was amazed. This is the work of junior high school students, but this is very extraordinary. We need appreciation. We have extraordinary children," he said.

Yuni even specifically asked for the paintings to be exhibited at the Dekranasda Gallery in Bandung. Not only that, he hopes that all elements will continue to develop the potential of children in the city of Bandung.

"We will be exhibiting this again at the Dekranasda Gallery. We will continue to support positive activities in all schools in the city of Bandung so that the works of Bandung residents are increasingly recognized in the world," explained Yuni.

On that occasion, Yuni also thanked various parties who participated in helping develop the creative potential of students.

"Thank you to the parents of students who always support their children to work. Also to the school principal, school committee, and various other elements who help," said Yuni.

Meanwhile, the Principal of SMPN 7 Bandung City, Lukman Surya Saputra, explained that the paintings were the work of student representatives who were selected from hundreds of paintings. Then the best 80 were selected to be displayed at Bandung Creative HUB.

"All students, more than 100 paintings because we gave SBK (Arts and Culture and Skills) subject assignments. Then we chose 80 to be displayed. Thank God there were many positive responses and some even bought the paintings," said Lukman.

Lukman admits that he is very proud of the achievements made by his students. Moreover, SMPN 7 has succeeded in winning first place in the traditional category and second place in the contemporary music category in Turkey by presenting jaipong dance, saman dance, Mojang Priangan singing, and angklung music.

"Alhamdulillah, this is appreciated and supported by the Bandung City Government," he said. (sya)**
