During Ramadan, A Number of Entertainment Venues Are Prohibited from Operating

In accordance with Circular Letter Number: 938-Disbudpar/2023 regarding the Closure of Tourism Businesses for Religious Holidays, the Bandung City Government (Pemkot) prohibits nightclubs, discotheques, pubs, karaoke, dance studios, billiards arenas (billiards) from operating during Ramadan.

The basic rules are in the Regional Regulation of the City of Bandung Number 14 of 2019 concerning Amendments to the Regional Regulation of the City of Bandung Number 07 of 2012 concerning the Implementation of Tourism (article 73 paragraph 6).

"Especially for bars, nightclubs, discotheques, karaoke, pubs, massage parlors, billiard houses, spas, and traditional cultural arts studios that are business and entertainment in nature, it is prohibited to operate their business activities during the Holy Month of Ramadan and religious holidays," the contents the circular.

The closure starts on Tuesday 21 March 2023 starting at 18.00 WIB. They are allowed to reopen on Tuesday 25 April 2023 at 18.00 WIB.

As for the screening of films in cinemas, it is hoped that they will be adjusted to the situation and conditions of religious days.

If it turns out that the company violates these provisions, then it will be subject to administrative sanctions based on Article 74 of the Regional Regulation of the City of Bandung Number 14 of 2019 concerning Amendments to the Regional Regulation of the City of Bandung Number 07 of 2012 concerning the Implementation of Tourism.
