The activity, which was held at the West Java Arcamanik Youth Sport Center, was attended by 2,045 students from 122 schools throughout Bandung City, consisting of 75 State Middle Schools, 20 Private Middle Schools and 27 State High Schools.

Head of the Bandung City Population Control and Family Planning Service (DPPKB), Kenny Dewi Kaniasari, said that this activity was held to increase awareness to commit to protecting children's rights in order to prepare mature and quality family planning, as well as preventing the birth of a stunted generation.

"There are several objectives of this declaration, namely, firstly, to provide direction and guidance to students for quality family planning," said Kenny

"Then provide education to students to commit to the personal interests of the nation and state, and of course reduce the rate of early marriage to prevent the birth of a stunted generation," he continued.

Meanwhile, the Acting Mayor of Bandung, represented by the Assistant for Government and People's Welfare, Asep Saeful Gufron, really appreciated this Student Declaration activity.

"I am very grateful, the number of early marriages in Bandung City is still relatively small compared to other areas," explained Asep

"Hopefully, through the DPPKB and the Education Department, we can continue to make various efforts to prevent early marriage in the city of Bandung, both through communication and educational information by bringing in expert sources," he added.

This declaration shows the commitment and efforts of the City of Bandung to continue preventing early marriage. If early marriage can be eradicated, then stunting will definitely be reduced. (rer)**
